Abstract:

Transport is the most significant source of air pollution, greatly contributing to the creation of greenhouse gases and influencing the climate change. Emissions from fuel combustion and evaporation have a dominant impact on total CO2 emissions. The paper analyses the ecological effects of greenhouse gas emissions. The authors present a comparative analysis of harmful CO2 emissions by comparing road and sea transport. The aim of this paper is to compare harmful CO2 emissions from cargo transport by road and sea between two destinations, and to recommend the ecologically more acceptable means of transportation. The authors advocate an ecological approach when choosing a given means of transportation.
