Abstract:

3D mobile mapping system (GMS3), a unified system of a multi-channel ground penetrating radar (GPR) system and a Camera Vector (CV) technology is presented. In our study an endeavor is made in which the radar antenna is placed on the wheel base of the exploration vehicle to increment the positional precision. GMS3 can take underground radar data and areal 3D map data utilizing omnidirectional camera at the maximum speed of 80km/h holding a high precision in location. High positional precision can dramatically reduce the labor for the survey compared to conventional methods. GMS3 Viewer manages terrestrial and subterrestrial data efficiently and precisely. By amalgamating with the image of the omnidirectional camera, more detailed exploration of the underground information is possible. Withal, a road ledger can be engendered utilizing images and can check the changes occur on the road. In the present paper a case study of the road cavity utilizing the exploration vehicle is presented.
