Abstract:

We present the conceptual design of bio-inspired security that guarantee minimum security resilience at any time for application areas that employs communicative devices such as mobiles and sensor devices. The security mechanism is modelled after human nervous system to counteract abnormal events through the inclusion of appropriate nervous system functionalities as subsystems in the security system. The establishment of brain and spinal cord (dorsal horn) are achieved through sharing of operations based on complexity and resource availability. The spinal cord operations are responsible for handling two different communication medium, learning and retaliation against incident through receptors and effectors. Brain component handles the self-awareness and overall learning process from multiple spinal cord points to have holistic security requirement against ongoing activities. These operations are ingrained in every end devices, e.g., mobiles and sensors devices, and thus results in the realization of architecturally reactive security mechanism.
