Abstract:

Now a days desiccants like silica gel, activated alumina, activated charcoal etc are widely used in many applications. They absorb moisture to create dry environment. But after absorbing moisture they get saturated. So, it is required to regenerate them. Most commonly used regeneration methods are regeneration by heating conventional fuel, regeneration through use of non-conventional energy, using microwave electromagnetic regenerator, using ultrasonic-assisted regenerator, using electro-osmosis regenerator etc. In this review paper the different regeneration process proposed for both the solid and liquid desiccants by different researcher have been studied which is expected to be helpful for any further research.
