Abstract:

We proposed a metal-dielectric composite metasurface which manipulates RF radiation at subwavelength regime to redistribute electromagnetic field such that the magnetic field enhances and electric field diminishes at the center of metasurface. This central part of the metasurface provides the safe region where specimen can be placed unharmed. The enhanced magnetic field is required for image quality improvement. This type of structure has potential to improve the SNR and reduce the scan time of the MRI system.
