Abstract:

During the last decade, many methods of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesis have been developed. The most common are chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and arc discharge method. Carbon nanotubes from electric arc plasma have less defects than the ones from CVD systems. Moreover, application of catalysts into the electric arc column enable production of single-walled carbon nanotubes. Thus, it can be noticed intensification of the research connected with arc systems. Some technological solutions have been presented and the system with external magnetic field has been described.
