Abstract:

This paper presents a doubly fed induction generation (DFIG) model, the control and simulation of grid connected DFIG for wind energy conversion system. Two control strategies are proposed; the direct control approach based on PI controller and another recent control strategy which is the Artificial Neural Network based on two layers. The active and reactive powers are both controlled in the rotor side converter and the grid side converter. The simulation of the system shows performed results with the proposed control strategies.
