Guest Editorial Target and Reverberation Experiment 2013 (TREX13)—Part II

This is the second special issue collecting papers related to the Target and Reverberation Experiment (TREX13) conducted in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City, FL, USA, in spring 2013. The first collection of papers was published in the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering , vol. 42, no. 2, April 2017. A number of papers in that collection focused on environmental characterization of the TREX13 site, while the remainder presented results from applied research conducted during the experiment. The emphasis in this collection is on efforts to characterize the environment at the TREX13 site and how the environmental parameters affect the transmission loss (TL) and, in turn, the reverberation. The papers of the special issue are briefly summarized.
