Chapter Abstract:

This is the last chapter of the book which summarizes the main conclusions. The integration and convergence of traditional telecommunication networks and the Internet is realized with the standardization of the Next Generation Network (NGN) concept by ITU‐T. However, the NGN is not something that happens in a given moment of time, but it is an ongoing process, an umbrella of principles and recommendations for synergy of different existing and future technologies, which grows and adapts to the continuously changing environment regarding the technologies as well as business and regulation aspects. Finally, migration to NGN and future networks brings many challenges to network and service providers, telecommunications and media regulators, equipment vendors, and other related business segments, but at the same it provides endless possibilities for rapid innovation of new networks, protocols and services.
