Abstract:
Explosive growth in data traffic for mobile networks — fueled by applications such as ultra-high-definition video or augmented reality — is driving the industry toward fifth-generation (5G) mobile wireless networks. Many advances are underway, covering wireless access and network technologies. This special issue discusses TCP/multipath-TCP with new mmWave radio bands, network slicing, and dynamic botnet detection in 5G.
