Abstract:
Additive manufacturing - also known as 3-D printing - is a very promising new way to generate complex material designs. However, even with the modern advanced techniques, some designs are too complex to be implemented. There exist an empirical formula that describe when the design is implementable. In this paper, we use fuzzy ideas to provide a theoretical justification for this empirical formula.
