Abstract:
Cognitive capillary machine type communication networks provide machine-to-machine communication for devices due to the advantage of the reduction in the power consumption of machines, the simplification of designing machines, the low design cost of machines and the reduction in the frequency of accessing base stations. In such an architecture, a multiple access control procedure is necessary between machines and a cognitive gateway. It is critical for machines to opportunistically use idle spectrum time to send data to a cognitive gateway while considers energy consumption of machines. In this paper, we propose a packet reservation multiple access with cross multi-frames in cognitive capillary machine type communication networks. In the proposed scheme, machines could reserve time slots across successive multi-frames in order to avoid collisions. Simulation results show that the proposed cross multi-frames scheme increases the utilization of idle slots and reduces the energy consumption of machines (in terms of duty cycle).
