Abstract:

We propose a frame-rate conversion method from 24 to 120 fps to broadcast digital cinema video for future broadcasting. The proposed method uses a frame interpolation method by linear-filtering interpolation using contrast compensation in consideration of spatio-temporal contrast sensitivity of the human vision system. Experiments show that the proposed method provides a subjectively better appearance.
