Abstract:
The future power grid is a combination of small power generators and large power stations. Solar energy and wind power are decentralised intermittent power generation systems. Control systems optimise different energy sources to provide environmentally friendly energy to the grid. Instead of large centralised power stations, an increasing number of alternative power sources taking on increasing importance in power production. This study investigates entirely renewable energy system. Renewable energy can be used in remote area applications. Intermittent production can be supported by vehicle to grid (V2G) systems as battery storage. Connecting a renewable distribution network to the power grid can reduce the need for centralised power stations.
