Abstract:
This paper describes a low-cost proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control system of DC motor based on an Arduino Uno board. The motor speed measured by means of an optical encoder is controlled by varying the voltage level applied by pulse with modulation (PWM). A graphical user interface (GUI) based application is builded in LabVIEW environment to control Arduino Uno board as low-cost solution for data acquisition board in this educational tool. The performance of the proposed system is analysed through several experiments.
