Abstract:

Theoretical analysis on performance of an analog clamping gamma spike circumvention algorithm is presented. The analysis includes relationships among the key parameters such as the bandwidth of circuit, threshold value, and gamma flux. Especially, the effect on signal power loss due to blanking by the circumvention circuit is analyzed with respect to the gamma and Gaussian electronics noises. The result can be used to find optimal conditions on the circuit design as well as operation parameters, so that it can be served as a tradeoff tool for algorithm selection and development.
