Abstract:

A dynamic simulation model is available, acting as a realistic environment for design, analysis and optimisation of hydraulic positioning systems in the field of cold rolling mills. Comprehensive, physically based, nonlinear models are used for arbitrary configurations of hydraulic actuator, servo valves, mill stand, transducers, pipe layout, power supply and their controls. The simulator is a part of an open Computer Aided Control System Design environment for Hardware In-the Loop simulation and Rapid Control Prototyping. This paper considers the application of the simulation model for analysing the closed-loop performance of hydraulic automatic gauge control (HAGC) systems.
