Abstract:
A novel spectrum sensing scheme is proposed based on a cyclostationarity approach for dynamic traffic circumstances where the primary users (PUs) might randomly depart or arrive during the sensing period. Modeling the spectrum sensing as a binary hypothesis testing problem, we develop a generalized likelihood ratio (GLR), and then, apply an estimate of spectral autocoherence function of the PU signal to the GLR to derive a test statistic. From numerical results, the receiver operating characteristic performance of the proposed scheme is found to be better than that of the conventional scheme based on the energy detection in dynamic traffic circumstances.
