Abstract:
Computer-aided engineering — a rapidly changing discipline that is much broader than computer-aided design (CAD) — is about to make radical changes in the way electrical engineers do their jobs and companies move products to market. Because these new tools allow engineers to take on more complex projects and to complete those projects faster than before, companies may be able to overcome the problem of ever longer design times in the face of ever shorter product life cycles.
