Abstract:

Since there are several sources of uncertainty in electric power systems, the probabilistic analyses are essential in power system studies. On the other hand, the penetration of renewable energies in power system affects the power system stability especially dynamic stability. So, in this paper, a new method based on Two- Point Estimation has been presented for probabilistic small signal stability analysis in power system containing wind energy. The probabilistic nature of wind speed has been modeled by Weibull distribution and bus loads have been assumed to vary randomly. The New England 39 bus system has been tested to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The Monte-Carlo simulation method has been used as a benchmark for the validity of the results.
