Abstract:

This paper focuses on an environment of more than one proxy server (called SARF) that serves homogeneous or even heterogeneous client preferences for streaming of real time or stored video flows. Under a hierarchical tree topology system of servers the users can access to different video sources and files though the tactical network. Camera sensors generate a huge amount of data compared to scalar sensors. Processing and transmitting such data by heterogeneous sensor nodes is challenging due to their computational and bandwidth requirements. Use of tactical video from different sources enhances Situation Awareness and provides a more accurate COP. The use of a hierarchical architecture based in COTS components, reduces bandwidth usage. The video architecture is included in a C2I system currently in use in the Spanish Army and in other civilian environments like the urban traffic management system of the city of Valencia.
