Abstract:
The existing and mature CFD technology is applied in this paper. Through the simulation of the prototype, it's found that there are obvious vortices in the cochlea part of the centrifugal multi-wing type ventilator. Two schematic plans are adopt to improve efficiency of the centrifugal multi-wing type ventilator. These vortices can cause high energy loss. At the same time, they increase noise of the ventilator and affect efficiency. The first scheme is to increase radius of the cochlea. The second scheme is to change the cochlea into tilted. Some experiments of the velocity of outlet of the centrifugal multi-wing type ventilator also have been carried on which are in order to make some comparison. It can be found that unsuitable change of the cochlea radius caused more disorder airflow rather than improve the cochlea vortices. So the conclusion obtained is that the key issue is to find the suitable radius of the cochlea in design of the centrifugal multi-wing type ventilator. During the design of tilted cochlea, a satisfying outcome is obtained.
