Chapter Abstract:
The chapter gives the characteristics of rectangular, circular, and corrugated horns and develops methods for their design. Both corrugated horn walls and ground planes alter pattern shapes. The gaussian beam development produces a pattern approximation that satisfies Maxwell's equation when used in PO to approximate corrugated horn feeds and finds further use in GO analysis of lens and beam waveguides. Ridged waveguide horns enable wide band antennas from multiple waveguide modes that can be found from equivalent aperture currents determined from pattern measurements.
