Abstract:

We have developed a human-area networking technology that uses the surface of the human body as a data transmission path and an AC electric-field signal with a frequency below the resonant frequency of the human body. This paper describes the intra-body communication technologies we are developing to promote the further evolution of a human-area network in support of ubiquitous services. It focuses on the three main features of the technology, promising applications, and an enabling transceiver technique.
