Abstract:
Enzyme free glucose micro-biosensors with nanoporous platinum (Pt) electrode were fully packaged with biocompatible Nafion membrane and characterized in bio-fluidic solutions. Three different packaging methods which were a dip coating, spin-casting, and chemical bonding were applied, characterized, and compared to find an optimal one for anti-fouling of protein in bio-fluidic solution. In human plasma and whole blood solutions, the packaged sensors with chemically bonded Nafion film showed relatively large current response and high sensitivity of 0.32 muA / mMmiddotcm2 which was the highest in the reported glucose sensors.
