Abstract:
Spectrum efficiency is a key issue for the future of wireless communications. Indeed, the available bandwidth becomes scarce and it has to be shared between many users and/or services. Thus, multicarrier modulation schemes with better frequency behavior than OFDM are of a particular interest. In this paper, we focus on the OFDM/OQAM modulation. We show that its spectral properties can make it the appropriate modulation scheme for the future 4G communication systems. Indeed, the comparisons with OFDM of the resulting spectrum, for various prototype filters, before and after different types of non linear amplifiers, give an advantage to OFDM/OQAM.
