Abstract:

Research on encapsulation has much future potential in pharmacology and biochemistry. In this paper, we present an approach to manipulate the movement of sodium alginate beads in micro-channel. Electric field is an effective method to control the movement of droplets, but its current, if there is any, may cause extra heat and the fabrication of on chip electrode is also expensive. However, by mixing nano ferroferric oxide in sodium alginate we can achieve magnetic micro beads, and they will cause no heat and current when exposing to a magnetic field.
