Abstract:
This short paper introduces the current state of asynchronous transfer mode networking technology as developed and demonstrated by the Olivetti Research Laboratory in Cambridge. The author's company is in the process of developing commercial products employing ATM technology, and these are described together with some speculation on the emergence of ATM technology as a ubiquitous communications solution.<>
