Abstract:
A bus-controlled 30-pin audio processor integrated circuit (IC) is described that uses an inter-IC bus system, integrated filter technology, and high-level integration bipolar process. The IC is divided into an MPX decoding block and a sound processing block. In the MPX block there are four bus-controlled integrated filters, FM demodulators for subchannel and identification (ID) decoding, and AM demodulators for detecting the subcarrier and ID signal. The sound processing block consists of source selection electronics, a 5-bit 2-dB step volume control and a 4-bit 2-dB step tone control.<>
