Gödel's life

I will start with a brief biographical sketch. Kurt Gödel was born in Brno (Brün in German) in April 28, 1906. At that time it was in the Czech Kingdom, the Czech part of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Not much later, in 1918, Brno was a city in the newly formed Czechoslovakia. His family belonged to a large German-speaking population in Brno.
