Abstract:

Close form analytical expressions are derived for the outage probability of predetection maximal ratio combiner (MRC) diversity reception with M branches in both Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels. This formulation is obtained in the presence of the white Gaussian noise and Q interferers, without restrictions about the power, number or distribution parameters of interferers. Closed-form expressions are derived and results are easily computable.

I. INTRODUCTION

One of the main parameters to characterise the performance of digital cellular radio systems over fading channels is the Outage Probability (OTP). This is also true for a multiple antenna diversity system operating in the presence of multiple interferers and noise.
