Abstract:

Plenty of recent evidence indicates that water plays a key role in determining the response of biological objects to electromagnetic radiation. Biological activity of water results from its transition to metastable (non-equilibrium) state. A number of external factors (including electromagnetic fields of various frequency bands are capable of changing the water state, thereby influencing the state of biological object, because water is directly involved in metabolic reactions. The goal of the present study was to compare the response of native human buccal epithelium cells exposed to extra high frequency electromagnetic field in water with that of the cells suspended in the preirradiated water. The electrophoretic mobility of cell nuclei in the electric field serves as a quantitative measure of this response (index of electronegative nuclei).
