Abstract:
The radar cross section (RCS) for a radome has been studied by using many analysis methods. For example, reported methods have been based on numerical solutions such as the method of moments (MoM) (Arvas, E. and Ponnapalli, S., 198). These methods can analyze the effects of multi-reflections inside a radome exactly. However, these methods have to use huge computer memory and huge calculation time when applied to large radomes. We propose a simple analysis method based on the shooting and bouncing ray (SBR) method (Ling, H. et al., 1989) in order to evaluate the effects of multi-reflections inside a radome. This method is very simple and it can be applied to a large radome RCS analysis in the limited computer condition.
