Abstract:
This paper presents a new formulation for the delay estimation problem in which the delay parameter becomes the unknown frequency of a sinusoidal sequence. Many standard techniques of frequency estimation can thus be applied. From the real and imaginary components of the cross-spectrum of the two received signals, two different estimates are available; and their difference can be used to decide if the estimates are anomalous. Simulation results are given to support some of the derivations.
