Abstract:

In this paper, we present XM-ADL, a new extensible markup ADL supporting DSE for embedded SoC and generation and retargetability of compiler and simulator. Conforming to the XML 1.0 standard, XM-ADL has the inherent and desirable merits including extensibility, flexibility, self-validation, readability and reusability, the properties lacking in all existing ADLs. Since XM-ADL is a core component of the reconfigurable advanced VLIW architecture (RAVA) project, we illustrate the features of XM-ADL through the description toward the prototype of RAVA system.
