Abstract:

Condition monitoring of oil-paper insulation of the power transformer is crucial for maintaining the reliability of power flow [1]. The transformer oil serves the dual purpose of providing insulation as well as dissipating the heat generated from the transformer windings. Being continuously under thermal, electrical, and chemical stresses, both solid and liquid insulation undergo gradual deterioration during the service life [2]. The degradation of the solid and liquid insulation of power transformers is interlinked [3].
