Abstract:

The development of individualised diagnosis and treatment plans depends on accurate modelling of cardiopulmonary dynamics. A comprehensive cardiopulmonary model that incorporates gas exchange, lung mechanics and cardiovascular interactions has been provided in this work. This model shows high accuracy after being carefully assessed against existing model and clinical observations. The essential physiological parameters are altered to imitate pathological situations such as hypoxia, hypercapnia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pulmonary fibrosis. The findings provide quantitative insights into the progression of the disease by revealing apparent changes in ventilatory response, blood flow dynamics and alveolar gas exchange. These results help practitioners to diagnose diseases in advance.
