Abstract:

The study represents the performance and designed evaluation of a microstrip patch antenna operating 5G, n79 frequency band i.e.; 4.7GHz, investigated in single and four patched configurations for advanced wireless applications. The antennas are being made on an FR4 (lossy) substrate. The single patch antenna showed a return loss (S11) of -48.8327 dB at 4.7014 GHz, indicating good impedance matching. Furthermore, for a four-patch array, the patches are placed in a single line, yielding return losses of -53.3949dB (S11), - 51.878dB (S22), -51.8514dB (S33) and - 51.9272dB (S44) for the selected 5G frequency. The results indicate that both the single antenna and array configuration retain distinguished and wonderful impedance matching and high gain provide the suitable implementation at selected 5G frequency. Such proposed antenna and antenna array offer good performance in lens type arrangement or configuration to achieve the effective beam-forming.
