Abstract:

Electromagnetic parameters of electromagnetic structural materials (EMSM) are the basic parameters used to optimize the reflection and transmission characteristics of materials. Unlike homogeneous materials, electromagnetic parameters of EMSM are equivalent and related to the incident angle and polarization state, making it crucial to obtain the angular-domain equivalent electromagnetic parameters. This paper proposes a measurement method and system for measuring equivalent electromagnetic parameters of EMSM in the angular domain, where a new angular-domain algorithm considering the incidence angle is deduced and an improved transmission-reflection calibration technique utilizing air and a metal plate is given. The effectiveness of the measurement method and system is verified by comparing simulation and test results. This work can provide complete angular-domain basic data for reflection/transmission analysis and design of EMSM.
