Chapter Abstract:

Summary

The integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems into the electric grid has gained significant attention due to the growing demand for renewable energy sources. Grid integration of PV systems presents both opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, PV systems can significantly reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, contribute to energy security, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The core component of a solar PV system that guarantees grid integration and power quality is the inverter. The quality of the power fed into the grid can be influenced by three key technical parameters, which are DC injection, flicker, and harmonics. In conclusion, with the right policies, technological innovations, and cooperative frameworks, the grid integration of PV systems will play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable and resilient energy future. This transformation not only addresses environmental concerns but also opens up new opportunities for economic growth and energy independence.
