Abstract:
Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTRs) are essential in chemical processes due to their broad industrial applications and complex nonlinear dynamics, making their control a critical area of study in control theory. This paper tackles the challenge of controlling a CSTR under the influence of disturbances. The funnel control method is introduced as a foundation for robust control, leveraging its strengths in handling nonlinear systems. To further improve performance, a novel control strategy combining funnel control with integral sliding mode is proposed, along with an adaptive law to address parameter uncertainties. Comprehensive simulations validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, highlighting its capability.
