Method to Optimize Space Function Distribution in FM by Employing BIM

The research paper presents a method to employ building information modelling (BIM) in facilities management (FM) to optimize space function distribution. The research paper provides insights into the use of BIM (7D model) in FM strategies, aiming to enhance FM operations overall and, more specifically, space function distribution. The methodology bridges the gap in FM processes through two complementary analyses: mathematical analysis and 7D model-based analysis. A mall case study is employed to highlight the method effectiveness. This research opens up new avenues for the application of FM processes, utilizing real-time data and 7D BIM models.
