Abstract:
The availability of low cost biomedical sensors and their integration with rapidly growing internet of things technologies has sparked research and developments in the field of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) providing numerous opportunities to expand healthcare services to personal level. Furthermore, the availability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can potentially customize the healthcare solutions to meet the individual needs by providing the remote data collection, analysis and prediction capabilities. Such AI-enabled IoMT systems can be used for continuous patient monitoring and timely medical intervention. In this paper, we present the design on our AI-enabled IoMT system and its implementation for remote monitoring of patient's vitals including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. We implemented our IoMT system using LoRa W Anas communication technology which is a Low Power Wide Area Network technology, capable of providing low power, long range communication among IoMT devices to collect real-time data for patient's vitals. The low power consumption and long communication range of LoRa W Antechnology, enables scalable and cost effective deployment of the developed system. Moreover, we have also tested the performance of the developed prototype in terms of data accuracy, energy efficiency, and real-time processing capabilities.
