Chapter 6 covers shipboard ungrounded DC low‐voltage distribution systems and low‐voltage secondary distribution systems. Models for unshielded two‐conductor and four‐conductor DC cables are provided. Common mode current performance of 12‐pulse rectifiers during a ground fault is presented. The chapter also includes a discussion of ground fault detection and localization.
