Abstract:
The Controller Area Network with Flexible Data-Rate (CAN FD) is a critical component of in-vehicle network. In a multi-vendor environment, the interoperability of CAN FD transceivers plays a pivotal role in determining the network's overall performance. This study proposes an automated test system based on ISO 9646-1, which automatically generates, conducts and evaluates test cases to assess the interoperability among transceivers from different manufacturers. Initially, the paper elucidates the fundamental principles of interoperability testing alongside the structured architecture of CAN FD networks, paving the way for the proposed test method tailored for CAN FD transceiver interoperability. The application of vector space theory is introduced to conceptually construct and represent test cases. Subsequently, the hardware architecture and software layered design of the test system are delineated, followed by an in-depth walkthrough of the system's operational workflow. A comprehensive array of test cases has been executed within the system, with results indicating its efficiency, reliability, and significant practical value.
