Abstract:
This article proposes a geometrically-based wireless channel model with limited Angle of Arrival (AOA). This model assumes that the line-of-sight (LOS) paths are obscured and scatterers are distributed within the scattering angle around a mobile station, resulting in the AOA received by the base station being limited to a certain range. Such a single bounce scattering models can be used for different 6G scenarios such as integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) and intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) by adjusting the angle parameter. Accordingly, the azimuthal angle and time of arrival marginal probability density functions (PDFs) are derived in closed form, which is evaluated in numerical simulation by compared to the normalized histograms. Finally, the proposed model is analyzed and verified with the measured data in micro and macro cells, which clearly demonstrates its accuracy and flexibility.
