Abstract:

False medications are a serious risk, threatening lives and undermining confidence. This research paper offers an innovative approach to fight counterfeiting and transform the transparency of the pharmaceutical supply chain combining blockchain technology with data matrix code. Consumers with cell phones can easily verify the validity of products by using unique data matrix codes linked to an immutable blockchain database. Authorized participants trace the movement of products within the network, from pharmacies to producers, producing an informative audit trail. Attempts at counterfeiting are exposed and are replaced with efficiency and trust. Envision an open supply chain promoting early identification and mitigation of counterfeiting. The goal of this research is to be the driving force behind this change by utilizing blockchain technology and data matrix to dramatically increase patient and consumer safety and create a more reliable pharmaceutical industry.
