Abstract:

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) has evolved as a ground-breaking technology that revolutionizes the way we transmit electrical energy, eliminating the need for physical connectors or cables. It holds immense potential in transforming the charging and powering of a wide range of devices, including smartphones, wearables, electric vehicles, and industrial machinery. Here it provides an overview of the recent advancements, persistent challenges, and diverse applications associated with WPT. The progress in WPT has been propelled by significant advancements in technologies like electromagnetic induction, resonant coupling, and radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting. These developments have paved the way for the creation of highly efficient and reliable WPT systems capable of transmitting power across short to medium distances. Researchers have made notable strides in optimizing power transfer efficiency, extending transmission ranges, and minimizing energy losses during wireless charging. Nevertheless, several challenges need to be addressed to facilitate the widespread adoption of WPT. Ensuring safety and compliance with electromagnetic radiation regulations remains a key concern. Managing power transfer efficiency over longer distances poses another obstacle, requiring innovative solutions to maintain optimal performance. Additionally, the design of interoperable systems that accommodate diverse devices and standards is crucial. It is equally important to develop cost-effective and scalable WPT infrastructure that seamlessly integrates with existing infrastructure and consumer electronics. By addressing these challenges, wireless power transfer has the potential to reshape the way we power and recharge our devices, offering a convenient and efficient alternative to traditional wired connections. The continuous advancements in WPT technology will undoubtedly pave the way for its widespread adoption across various industries and applications.
