Abstract:
In this letter, a dual-band high-gain multibeam antenna based on independent phase control metasurface is proposed. First, a reflective metasurface working in the Ku band and K band is designed, and the phase of the metasurface can be controlled independently in two bands. Second, based on the 1-bit digital coding method, the multifunction metasurface is formed into a beam control array, which can control the direction of the main lobe in the dual band. Finally, a miniaturized dual-band microstrip antenna is designed and placed at different positions on the focal level of the metasurface as a feed source. When the antenna at different positions is excited, the radiation wave is reflected through the metasurface into a high-gain narrow beam pointing at different angles. The test results show that the antenna beam points to 0° and ±30° in the Ku band, and 0° and ±45° in the K band. The gain of the antenna is more than 12 dBi in the operating band, and the peak gain is 17.32 dBi, which has good high-gain multibeam characteristics.
