Broadband Optical Activation Function Based on Injection-Locked Semiconductor Lasers

We experimentally demonstrate a broadband optical activation function based on a semiconductor laser with optical injection. The operation bandwidth reaches as high as 5 GHz, which is limited by the resonance frequency of the laser.
